Out with an indie splash, Magpie Darling is a new British based fashion magazine who have just released their premier issue. My recent shoot with stylist Leila Bani and makeup/hair artist Brenda Bekker appears in a spread inside, as well as on the cover and the website. A quick outtake from the shoot yesterday for Mara Gottler’s new Fall/Winer 2011 collection at Sugar Studios. We had quite a laugh. Mara’s new catalogue will be out for industry in February and released to the rest of us late spring. I’ll be sure to post when it is out.

LITTLE BLACK DRESS
Vancouver designer Mara Gottler, her Director Amanda and I collaborated on a recent shoot for her upcoming Fall/Winter 2010 catalogue which focuses on a series of elegant cocktail dresses with a few of Mara’s signature jackets rounding it out. Modern and sophisticated, this collection combines Mara’s background in theatre with a contemporary feel…an exciting new direction for one of Vancouver’s best.
We had a successful casting call the week before the shoot and settled on Britt from Next Agency, who brought an elegant and exotic touch to the photographs. Sonia Leal-Serafim from THEY Rep performed her usual magic on hair and makeup. Mara Gottler’s Director, Amanda Gutmanis, was instrumental in producing and styling the shoot.
