Lenscratch published a feature today on the Hibernus and Sea/Life series…happily coinciding with the opening tonight at Akasha Art Projects.

Lenscratch is a blogzine that explores contemporary photography and offers opportunities for exposure and community. Considered one of the 10 Photography-Related blogs you should be reading by Source Review, Wired.com, and InStyle Magazine.

I’m proud to report that the photographs I did last summer for the Vancouver Whitecaps Women’s League contributed to the United Soccer League announcement that the ‘Caps have been honored with the 2011 Women’s League Marketing Award. Alright!

The beautiful second anniversary issue of Australian on-line journal UYW was released today…an issue which focuses on artists using alternative methods in photography. This edition of Unless You Will was co-curated by founder Heidi Romano and Italy’s Fabio Severo and, along with my Hibernus series, includes wondrous work from Binh Danh (the chlorophyll printing process is breathtaking), Beth Dow and fellow Canadian Curtis Wehrfritz.

Subplot Design’s identity and packaging design for Petcurean is featured on the Applied Arts Extra release today.

Here’s the rest of that shoot for BC based pet food manufacturer Petcurean and the new GO! product line.
Two days shooting this series in-studio…with a blackout set including cats and a water pool (not together, phew)…with creative director Matthew Clark from Subplot Design Inc. and the wonderful in-house gang from Petcurean. Thanks again to Gina at THEY Rep for all the production.

The official launch for BC pet food manufacturer Petcurean’s new advertising campaign and re-branding launches today at the Superzoo 2011 trade show in Las Vegas. I photographed animals in action in the studio this summer with Subplot Design for the GO! product line. I’ll post the entire campaign soon…

I mentioned earlier that I was selected as a finalist for PDN’s Great Outdoors photography competition for “Bull Kelp, Pacific Northwest”. The photograph has been moved forward to the Winners category and you can see it published in the September issue or at the web gallery here.

The results are in…and I’m happy to announce I have received 4 “Honorable Mentions”.

The International Photography Awards is a sister-effort of the Lucie Foundation, where the top three winners are announced at the annual Lucie Awards ceremony. The awards event will be held at the Lincoln Center in New York on October 24, 2011, before returning to Los Angeles in 2012 in celebration of the 10-year anniversary. Over 8,000 submissions from 90 countries were received for the 2011 International Photography Awards with over 70 jurors, the largest to date. The Foundation’s mission is to honor master photographers, discover new and emerging talent, and promote the appreciation of photography.
