POWER OF BUSINESS FOR BC HYDRO
An exciting project is wrapped with the publication of the Power of Business awards magazine for 2010.

TRACK YOUR TRASH…AND START RUNNING

We wrapped another portrait shoot for the ongoing series for BC Hydro’s Team Powersmart campaign. The subjects this time around were Matt Hill and Stephanie Tait who run an organization called Run for One Planet. These two are a pretty cool duo, and talk about inspiring. They ran one marathon per day for a whole year and all in the name of promoting environmental action. I asked Matt if that really meant they ran 365 days in a row and he mentioned they usually took a day or two off each week…your body simply couldn’t take that much action with no recovery time.
Now that’s pretty amazing, but my favorite thing about their website was a blog posting called “Where Does Your Garbage Go?“, a fascinating article about an organization down in Seattle, headed by MIT, called Trash Track. They electronically tag items in the trash and track their journey to their ultimate destination, wherever that may be. Kind of like the other end of the 100 Mile Diet…
“Imagine a future where immense amounts of trash didn’t pile up on the peripheries of our cities: a future where we understand the ‘removal-chain’ as we do the ‘supply-chain’, and where we can use this knowledge to not only build more efficient and sustainable infrastructures but to promote behavioral change.”
Nice.
2010 WINTER OLYMPICS + BC HYDRO

Had a great time on this shoot…Lisa was certainly the right choice…
“Come celebrate the spirit of the 2010 Winter Games at the Power Smart Village, a family-friendly exploration of sustainability, BC Hydro history and more. Create an inspirational message on the digital expression wall, tour our “future is now” home exhibit, or cheer on our athletes while you watch competitors live on a big screen. You can even create electricity by dancing on our sustainable dance floor. It’ll be great fun, and by sharing your energy, you may even win tickets to the Games.”
POWERSMART GOES TO THE 2010 WINTER OLYMPICS

Amazing assistant Rob shows us how it's done
Had a great shoot mid-December with DDB for BC Hydro…results posted soon.
During the 2010 Games, BC Hydro will be opening the doors to the BC Hydro Powersmart Village, celebrating the Games in a spirit of conservation and sustainability.
Art Director Daryl Gardiner, Account Supervisor Terra Cochrane and Print Producer Amanda Dring came to the new studio on 7th Ave West for the shoot. Model Lisa C. from Liz Bell Agency supplied enough energy to keep BC Hydro in business for the rest of the winter…jump, jump, jump! Hooray for those little trampolines.
Thanks also to stylist Leila Bani and makeup artist Sonia Leal Serafim from THEY Representation.
